We are dedicated to helping you in your research. So we may best serve you, please first determine (a) if you are able to visit our Archives and Research Library facility to conduct your own research, or (b) if you may need our investigative assistance.

You are invited to visit the Jackson County Historical Society's Archives, Research Library and Bookshop to conduct research on your topic of interest. We are available by ADVANCED APPOINTMENT only Tuesday through Friday. Members who support the work of the Society enjoy unlimited on-site access for free. Non-member patrons are assessed a $10 fee upon each visit to the Archives and Research Library.

If you are not able to visit our facility, we are happy to conduct research for a nominal fee. Research requests are thoroughly investigated, and fees are based on the time spent on the search, not on the results.

Follow these 3 EASY STEPS so we may help you with your research question:

1) Research questions must be submitted in writing via. facsimile, e-mail, or surface mail (contact information is below). To facilitate our search, provide us with enough information to gather specific answers to your question.

2) All communications must include the patron's name, and postal address. Written research requests are investigated on a first in, first-out basis. Payment may be made by check or money order made payable to "Jackson County Historical Society," or by credit card using this secure site. Research will not begin until payment is received.

3) It takes an average of two hours to investigate most specific research requests. The research fee includes up to 20 on-site photocopies if necessary (copies made at other facilities will be billed separately). Staff will notify you upon receipt of your request if additional time is projected. Due to the high volume of requests, our turn-around time once we receive payment is a MINIMUM of three months.
