Photographs, Prints, Maps & Posters

The Jackson County Historical Society's photographic collection includes an extensive collection of images of people, places, events, plus a special collection of entertainers and personalites from its Strauss-Peyton Collection. Photographs include a young Harry Truman, Fred Astaire, Jean Harlow, Douglas MacArthur, the Marx Brothers and more. Call (816) 252-7454 for details. This category also includes lithographic prints, maps, and atlases.

Our reproduction fees provide us the resources we need to continue to provide an environment conducive for their long-term preservation. Black and white glossy or matte prints intended for personal use are (8 x 10 - $25), (11 x 14 - $30), (16 x 20 - $40)and (20 x 24 - $50). Images from the Straus-Peyton Collection are generally 8 x 10 and retail for $40). Electronic scans are $25 each.

There is an additional $50 charge per image if the photograph is intended for commercial or exhibition use. Credit must be given to the "Jackson County (Mo.) Historical Society Archives."
